| 06/10/2009 "My Dad is a" Great American Dad" because He will sacrifise anything for the happiness of his family..Including serving his country for 2 yrs.during the vietnam war. It has been nearly 10 yrs.ago that my mother had gotten hurt on her job and became permanantly disabled..never to work again..my Dad does all that he can to take care of my mother and our family. Over the years I have seen my Dad sell many cars..trucks and a Harley among other things to make ends meet for the needs of our family including the sale of his favorite street rod..that he & my mother built together from the ground up. It was a "beautiful" car featured in many magazines and won several awards. My Dad "Loved" that car dearly and took a lot of pride in showing it..but my Dad has always been the guy who would give anyone the shirt off his back.. if it meant meeting the needs or happiness of his family or others..never ever really considering the happiness of himself. Its been nearly a year ago that my husband left me & my 3 children never looking back and guess who was there with open arms to bring me & the kids back home... help me raise the children and pick up the pieces... My "Great American Dad" who still today makes many sacrifices for his entire family..always with a smile..a hug..and many I love you's along the way!! If there were more men like my Dad in this world...who made sacrifices by putting their familes & their childrens needs first...the world would be a much better place!! In todays world & struggeling economy anyone can father a child..but it takes a "special" person to be a Dad!! I consider myself "lucky" to have the #1 "Great American Dad" My children have the "greatest" grandpa of all time...and my mother has the "best" husband ever!! That's why I believe my Dad is the #1"great American Dad" of all Dad's everywhere..because of his commitment , Love , and everlasting devotion for his entire family!! I love you Dad!!! | 06/09/2009 "My Dad is the Great American Dad, because he is hard working and does alot of things for his family and friends, and he does not get credit for anything he does or even at his job. If I did not have my Dad with me in the world I do not know what I would do without him, he is the best and I love him alot. My dad is always helping me out with things and projects around my house. We always try too spend time together when we can, we take alot of walks when the weather is nice. He is always doing things for me and really helping me out alot because I lose my job at Christmas of 2008, If I did not have him around I do not know what I would do without him. He is the worlds best father in my world and many others. I am an only child so he will do anything and drop everything he is doing too help me out in my life, he is always there for me. He is always looking out for me, even in really hard and stressful times in my life with everything I have been though and I have been though alot of very hard times. He listens too me with alot of different problems that are going on in my life also. So that is why My Dad is the Great American Dad!!!!!!!! " |

| 06/09/2009 "I think my dad is great because he has always been there for me and my sisters, no matter what. He pushes us to do well in school and in every extra curricular activity we encounter. He uses whatever money he can afford so that we may have better opportunities than he may have had as a child. He's been working hard to keep a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, and food in our stomachs, even though our car has broken down 3 times in the past 8 1/2 months. That's why I think my dad is great and hope that we win this contest because he deserves it for all that he does for me and my family." |

| 06/09/2009 "My Dad Joe is an extraordinary man. He is a strong, compassionate, loving man that has been through some storms, but has always come out on top. He & my Mom lost their first child at the age of 5 to an illness. I was 2 at the time. He always made me feel that I was special & the best thing on earth. I remember growing up going to ballgames, parks, fishing and my Dad always told me he loved me. I used to stand on his feet and we would dance the night away at times. My father-in-law (I call him dad) has always been there to offer advice on everything from getting closer to Christ (he is a pastor) to helping me with the newest project at home. Although I am married to his daughter, he is always objective and is able to see all sides of an issue. He shows me strong morals and demonstrates how to be a good man. He is a true friend and always just a phone call or quick visit away." |

My fiancee came into my kids lifes short of a yr ago and he has been 100% active in thier lifes since.He is the one that goes to school plays and ballet,Scouts and ball practice he is the one that sits at the small tea tables for tea time with the stuffed bears and "his" princess".He has Taught both kids how to ride a bike,throw a baseball or kick a soccerball and how to cast the perfect line in fishing.So when it comes to being a Dad, biologival or not my kids say he is the best dad out there!" |
