"My dad is a great American dad because he has always done everything it takes to make sure his family is taken care of. Even now that all his children are grown he would still give the shirt off his back if we needed it."

"I have the greatest American Dad because he likes to play golf, baseball and basketball with me. He likes to go to Astros and Rockets games with me. He likes to play Wii and watch ESPN with me all the time. Everything he does with me is really fun, and I always try to take whatever he tells me as something to improve on. I will remember forever all the things we do, and we love each other very much."

"I will never give him Grandchildren, a Daughter in Law, a touchdown, a home run, the game ball, or a Medal of Honor. I can only give him the love of his Son. My Father has never expected or asked for anything more than just that. "

"My Dad raised the bar when he raised me. Never an “ask your mother” kind of father, Dad dealt with the hard-hitting issues, like what to do when my brother hit me, how to hit a fastball, and, “please buy me this hit record.” But the most important lesson I learned from Dad is: when you love your child whole-heartedly, they will love you back. Three cheers for Dad!"

"My dad is the GREATEST dad ever! He works 12 hours or more 5 days a week, so my mom can stay at home with me and my sister. Not many dads make that sacrifice anymore. He always tries to make our lives fun! He's helped me learn how to play golf. And he's always the first person to suggest doing something fun! So...when he's at work, we're having fun with mom and when he's off, we're always doing something fun together as a family! I LOVE MY DAD!!"

" He has raised 9 children, and still raises my brother who has down-syndrome. He worked everyday of his life until retirement without missing 1 day to raise all of us. My mother and step mother passed away, but he is still here at 83 years young and still loving and worrying about all of his children. He is such a wonderful dad. he really does deserve to be named the Great American Dad."

"Dad, you’re great, you’re like no other. Raising three girls, and then my brother. You’re Superman, Confucius and Ward Cleaver, Allowing us to grow up like “Leave it to Beaver.” You insulated us from the world “out there,” Showering us with love, optimism and care. You cooked us great meals; you’re a master chef, And took care of Grandma, although she was deaf. We played instruments and sports, and never were cold, Although you worked long, hard hours; it sometimes took its toll. You helped us find laughter when we were upset, Cleaned our skinned knees and taught us to stay out debt. You were frugal and saved to pay for our education, You were our biggest champion; you showed such dedication. We’ll never forget the sacrifices you made, Our happy memories of a love-filled childhood will never fade. Thanks, Dad. "
